1/4/25 KIDS DAY Twice a year, ARRL offers an event designed to promote Amateur Radio to our youth. Share the excitement with your kids or grandkids, a Scout troop, a church or the general public! Kids Day is designed to give on-the-air experience to young people and hopefully foster interest in getting a license of their own. It is also intended to give older hams a chance to share their station and love for Amateur Radio with their children. Kids Day always runs from 1800 UTC through 2359 UTC. 2/22/25 SCOUT'S ON THE AIR 2025 We need volunteers to help read the questions to the Scout's. The scouts are going to take their test after the review of the questions. To become Scouts on the air. This Ham Review helps the the Scouts become better acquainted with the correct answer to the question. After the review, the Scout will take their exam at the same place on the same day. 3/15/25 Red Rock Rumble Horse Ride. This will be hosted out by the N Red Rock Rd area. Just north of the Stead Airport. This is the link for the base camp and start and finish 39.816444 -119.909833 They will have about 2-3 locations plus base camp. So we will need one per location at the minimum of 4 Communicators. I don't have exact locations until it gets a little bit closer to the event. If you can help I can sure use you on this one day event. Everything is accessible by 2 wheel drive. Show Hours: | Fri 10-6 | Sat 10-6 | Sun 10-5 | Sun 5p- 6p + Tear Down
Last year WC-ARES and SNARS attended as exhibitors. Last year the ARES ECOMM 1 (Truck) was adjacent to the SNARS booth so we could both support each other.

Tahoe Rim Trail EVENT CANCELED for 7/19/25 through 7/20/25. The Tahoe Rim Trail, was canceled as of 2/24/25 for the year 2025, due to Marlette Dam reconstruction and Flume pipe replacement projects. They had to cancel this event. This event is sponsored by Tahoe Mountain Milers.
7/25/25 -7/26/25 Lost Sierra Endurance Race One day event on Saturday starting at 5:00 AM This will be in In Downieville, California. This event coordinator is looking for a couple people to help out with. communications for the event.
